I've always believed the most meaningful gifts tell a story. The story of kimPrints Designs didn't begin with me—it began with my mom.

My Mother's Legacy

She was an artist, entrepreneur, and maker long before those titles became fashionable, building successful gift stores—first in Riverdale, New York, and later in Naples, Florida—where creativity wasn't simply sold, it was lived every day. Long before personalized needlepoint gifts became as beloved as they are today, she was hand-painting "Shh... Baby's Sleeping" pillows and door hangings, and taught me that the most meaningful gifts become part of a family's story. Her creativity shaped mine, and her legacy is one I still strive to honor every day.

A Career, and a Return to Creativity

After beginning my own career on Wall Street, I found my way back to the creative world and launched my first business in 1998. What began with handcrafted favors grew into a nationally recognized stationery and gift design company—creating thousands of original designs over the next two decades, including, in a brush with fame long before social media, baby shower invitations for Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, and Sarah Jessica Parker's twin girls, and being featured in magazines and on TV for women entrepreneurs, all while balancing motherhood and everything else that comes at you in a thing called life. My creative journey continued through Shorelines Illustrated and New England Coastal Creative, where I've been fortunate to connect with extraordinary artists, makers, and creative women who inspire me every day.

Rediscovering Needlepoint

Then I rediscovered the joy of needlepoint. What began as a creative escape quickly became a passion—and as I stitched, I found myself looking back through thousands of designs I'd created over the years that felt like they were waiting for their next chapter, ready to come alive again on canvas. Coming back to needlepoint wasn't about following a trend; it was returning to the creative roots I grew up with, the same craftsmanship and meaningful keepsakes my mother shared with every customer who walked through her doors.

Today, every kimPrints canvas begins with an original design I create digitally, inspired by the people, places, and traditions that make life memorable—many growing into coordinating gifts, tabletop, home décor, and personalized keepsakes. Travel remains one of my greatest inspirations; through Shorelines Illustrated, I've come to believe the places we love become just as meaningful as life's biggest milestones.
